Job Corps provides job training for 16-24 year olds. You can reach their Bronx Office by calling (718) 624-8939

Learning for Living can help you with earning your GED, which many jobs require. You can call them at (718) 401-5700

I really need housing. Where can I go?

The Intake office of The Franklin Women's Shelter is located at 1122 Franklin Avenue Between Third Avenue and 166th Street. You can reach the intake office by calling (718) 842-9880. To get there by public transportation, take the 5 Train to the Third Avenue station, then switch to the Bronx Bus number 55.

The intake office of The Bellevue Men's Shelter is located at 400-430 East 30th Street Between 1st Avenue and FDR Drive. You can reach them by calling (212) 481-0771. To get there by public transportation, go to the 34th Street subway station in Manhattan and walk all the way East.

If you are under 21 years old and in need of shelter you should call Covenant House Located at 460 West 41st Street New York, NY 10036. You can call them at (212) 613-0300.

The Citizens' Advice Bureau runs a drop-in center called The Living Room. It is located at 890 Garrison Avenue, Bronx, NY 10459. You can call them at (917) 918-4495. To get there by Public transportation, take the 6 Train to Hunts Point. The Center is between Tiffany and Berretta.

I really need detox. Where can I go?

Jacobi Hospital at 1400 Pelham Parkway at Eastchester Road runs a good detox program. It is located in Building 5, on the 4th Floor. You can call them at (718) 918-4495. Remember: you must check in before 10:00 AM, Monday-Friday.

Saint Barnabas Hospital at 4422 Third Ave. also runs a detox program. You can reach them at (718) 960-6636. Remember, you must check in before 7:30 AM, Monday-Friday.

I just need a little support. Who can I call?

For Alcohol / Drug Dependency meetings you can always call Alcoholics Anonymous at (718) 515-8481 or Narcotics Anonymous at (800) 234-0420

Lifenet provides 24 hour help to victims and those in need, specifically victims of domestic violence. You can reach them at 1-(800)-LIFENET.

Alcohol Abuse and Addiction Assessment runs a 24 hour helplined at (800) 771-5009.

I really need food. Where can I go?

City Harvest Food and Hunger Hotline, located at 159 West 25th Street, can help. They are open 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday-Friday, and can be reached at (917) 351-8777.
